1) Calculate the mass of the solute of barium chloride in its solution. To do this, we multiply the mass fraction of the substance by the mass of the solution and divide by one hundred percent: 80 * 6.5 / 100 = 5.2 g.
2) Calculate the amount of barium chloride substance. To do this, divide the mass of the chloride by its molar mass. The molar mass is found according to the periodic table. 5.2 / 208 = 0.025 mol.
3) According to the reaction equation, one mole of barium chloride accounts for one mole of barium sulfate (precipitate). This means that the amount of barium sulfate substance is 0.025 mol.
