| 1. Records a reaction describing the process of limestone decomposition:
CaCO3 = CaO + CO2;
2.Calculate the chemical amount of calcium carbonate:
n (CaCO3) = m (CaCO3): M (CaCO3);
M (CaCO3) = 40 + 12 + 48 = 100 g / mol;
n (CaCO3) = 5000: 100 = 50 mol;
3.in the equation, the coefficients in front of the substances are the same, respectively, and the chemical quantities:
n (CO2) = n (CaCO3) = 50 mol;
4.Calculate the volume of carbon dioxide produced:
V (CO2) = n (CO2) * Vm = 50 * 22.4 = 1120 dm3.
Answer: 1120 dm3.
