Can an aquarium be called an ecosystem?

Yes, an aquarium is an ecosystem. This is an artificial ecosystem, as there are homogeneous habitats, flora and fauna. Also, a large number of microorganisms live there. This ecosystem is completely dependent on humans, since the aquarium cannot exist on its own. Man gives fish food, purifies water, periodically changes it, and so on. In natural ecosystems, everything happens without a person. For example – the lake contains the same conditions, flora and fauna. But due to the great variety, the lake exists on its own.
