Characteristic features of the recent period of world history.

We are talking about the period after 1918. Features: international organizations – the League of Nations and the UN, languages with international status (Russian, Arabic, Spanish, English, Chinese, French), the design of ideologies and their opposition – socialism and capitalism, democracy and totalitarianism. Decolonization and the emergence of many independent states, by the end of the XX century there were almost 200 of them. The formation of a post-industrial society and the era of the media – radio, television, the Internet. The disappearance of absolute monarchies, except for a couple of countries.
