Determine the power of the rocket at the end of the acceleration

Determine the power of the rocket at the end of the acceleration, if the speed reached by it is 8.0 km / s, and the thrust force of the engine is 300 kN.

To find out the power of the presented rocket at the end of acceleration (instantaneous power), we use the formula: Nmg = Ft * Vmg, where Ft is the thrust force of the engine of the presented rocket (Ft = 300 kN = 3 * 10 ^ 5 N); Vmg – the achieved (instantaneous) speed (Vmg = 8 km / s = 8 * 10 ^ 3 m / s).

Let’s perform the calculation: Nmg = Ft * Vmg = 3 * 10 ^ 5 * 8 * 10 ^ 3 = 2.4 * 10 ^ 9 W.

Answer: At the end of the acceleration, the power of the presented rocket was 2.4 GW.
