Do mushrooms grow constantly or not?

Some types of mushrooms grow throughout life. They can grow to enormous sizes until they break and rot due to their weight. But most of the mushrooms that we collect in the forest do not grow to a large size, but grow to a certain size. This is due to the fact that for continuous growth, inherent genetic information and natural conditions are needed.
