Explain on the basis of the molecular structure of a substance the heating of a spoke immersed in hot water.

Hot water has a high temperature, that is, its molecules move at high speeds. When we release a spoke into it, the water molecules moving at high speeds collide with the slow molecules of the spoke, as a result of which they give up some of the energy. The spoke molecules begin to move faster, the internal energy increases and, accordingly, the spoke temperature increases, it heats up.
