The Mariana Trench is the deepest place in the world. It is here that the Challenger Abyss is located, the depth of which for 2020 is 10,028 m.

The trench (the common name is the Mariana Trench) is located in the western part of the Pacific Ocean, not far from the Mariana Islands, the length of such a geological unique is 2540 km with an average width of 69 km.

Geographic coordinates – 11 degrees 21 minutes north latitude and 142 degrees 12 minutes east longitude. In fact, this is the place where two tectonic plates meet – the Pacific and the Philippines.
