France extended its own power and influence over practically the whole of Europe, leaving a big imprint on its internal systems. In 1812, the empire experienced a chain of failures. Despite this, the economic balance of Napoleon’s government cannot be considered absolutely useless for France. It recorded many of the gains of the imperialist era and established very suitable circumstances for the formation of agriculture and industry.
