How did the First World War affect the lives of people in the belligerent countries?

Many countries were drawn into the First World War, as a result of which they were destroyed. The population of all countries worked to provide for the troops of their country. As a result, people’s living standards have declined. In the Russian Empire, this situation caused discontent among the population, so when the Bolsheviks proposed a way out of the war without annexations and indemnities, they were supported not only by workers and peasants, but also by soldiers.
