How do false mushrooms differ from edible ones?

Edible mushrooms are mushrooms that have fruiting structures large enough to be seen with the naked eye. They can be hypogenic or epigonal and can be harvested by hand. What emphasizes the edibility of mushrooms is the absence of a toxic effect on humans and the desired taste and aroma.

Since there is no known criterion for determining whether a mushroom is edible or not, a mushroom should never be eaten unless it has been accurately identified and the edibility of the species is known. The chemical composition of the toxins contained in different species is very different, so the effects of poisoning vary greatly depending on the species.
