In which countries that fought in World War II, was a person the most free?

In my opinion, the USA is in the first place. There was no need for this country to defend its borders, volunteers went to the army and navy, who received, albeit a small, salary. The war for them was reduced to a confrontation with Japan at sea and to the landing of troops on the Japanese islands and in Europe.

In Britain, France and other European countries, the situation was dire. Fascist Germany ruled Europe with practically impunity. The people of the USSR fought for their existence, so all thoughts were about war, not about freedom.
