One of the reasons that affects the number of altitudinal zones is the proximity of the mountain to the equator. In this case, the temperature at the foot is high and, accordingly, it drops slowly with height. The second reason is the height, since in this case the length of the mountain slope increases and, accordingly, there is enough space for each natural belt. And, if mountains like the Andes are located in the equatorial zone and have a height of about 6,000 meters, then all zones from equatorial forests to glaciers will fit there.
