Information from DNA (including RNA) is transmitted using genes (a piece of DNA with a specific sequence of polypeptides or a functional part of RNA). The very process of the formation of the protein mass of DNA (and therefore genes) takes place in the ribosomes, and the genes themselves are transmitted through the space of the cytoplasm.
