When heated, calcium bicarbonate decomposes into calcium carbonate, carbon dioxide and water:
Ca (HCO3) 2 → CaCO3 + CO2 + H2O;
In the process of an exchange reaction between calcium carbonate and nitric acid, calcium nitrate, water and carbon dioxide are formed:
CaCO3 + 2HNO3 → Ca (NO3) 2 + H2O + CO2.
