In the period from the 4th to the 5th century, the Western Roman Empire was in a rather critical state, due to constant conflicts with barbarian tribes. This situation worsened even more after the arrival of the Huns in Europe. As a result, the Western Roman Empire could not withstand the pressure of the barbarians and collapsed. This happened in 476 – the last year of the existence of the great empire. After that, new, but already barbaric states began to emerge on the territory of the collapsed empire: the Vandal kingdom, the Frankish kingdom, the Visigoth kingdom, the Ostrogoth kingdom, etc.
