Pour water into a glass, cover with a sheet of paper and, supporting the sheet with your hand

Pour water into a glass, cover with a sheet of paper and, supporting the sheet with your hand, turn the glass upside down. If you now take your hand away from the paper, then the water will not pour out of the glass. The paper remains as if glued to the edge of the glass. Why?

In this case, two pressures will act on the sheet of paper. Atmospheric pressure will act on the bottom of the sheet. And the pressure of the liquid column in our glass will act on the upper part. Since the pressure of the atmosphere will be greater, the paper remains, as it were, glued to the edge of the glass.
