| From the condition, we know that the area of the triangle is 36 m2, and the side of the triangle to which the height is lowered is also known – 12 m.
In order to find the height of a triangle, which is lowered to the side of a triangle of known length, we will use the formula to find the area of a triangle through the side and the height lowered to it.
Let’s remember the formula for finding the area:
S = 1/2 * b * h, where b and h are the side and the height lowered to this side, respectively.
Let’s express the height:
h = 2S / b;
Substitute and calculate:
h = 2 * 36/12 = 6 meters the height of the triangle, lowered to the side of 12 m.
