The body falls freely from a height h. At the same moment, another body is thrown from height H vertically downward. Both bodies fell to the ground at the same time. Determine the initial velocity u0 of the second body: 1) check the correctness of the solution using a numerical example h = 10 m; H = 20 m; take g = 10 m / s. 2) determine the speed of each body at the moment of falling.

We find the velocities of bodies based on the following formulas:
v1 = g * t;
v2 = g * t + v (0);
We find the fall time using the following formula:
t = √ (2 * h / g) = √ (2 * 10/10) = √ (2) = 1.41 s;
v (0) = (H – h) / t = 7.09 m / s;
v1 = 10 * 1.41 = 14.1 m / s;
v2 = v1 + v (0) = 14.1 + 7.09 = 21.19 m / s.
