The contribution of astronomers to the scientific revolution?

Astronomers played a very important role here. They proved that the movement of the heavenly bodies is explained by completely natural reasons, some of them (like the Italian astronomer and mystic Giordano Bruno) even spoke of a plurality of inhabited worlds, their discoveries became the subject of big politics and even cost scientists their lives or freedom.
