| The perimeter of the rectangle is the sum of the lengths of the sides. Let’s compose and solve the equation, taking for “x” – the width of the rectangle, for “4x” – the length of the rectangle:
2 * (x + 4x) = 60
10x = 60
x = 6 m
The width is known. Let’s find the length of the rectangle:
6 * 4 = 24 m.
The area of a rectangle is equal to the product of length and width, we find it:
6 * 24 = 144 m²
Answer: The area of the rectangle is 144 m2
