The perimeter of the triangle is 3 dm. The largest of the sides is 4cm larger than the smallest, and the doubled third side is equal to the sum of the other two sides. Find the sides of the triangle.

3 dm = 30 cm.

If one of the sides, which is smaller – x cm, then the larger one is equal to (x + 4) cm. Then the third will be: 30 – x – (x + 4) = 26 – 2x.

We get: (26 – 2x) * 2 = x + (x + 4),

52 – 4x = 2x + 4,

6x = 48,

x = 6.

The large side is 6 + 4 = 10 (cm).

The third side is equal to: 26 – 12 = 14 (cm).

Answer: the sides are 6 cm, 10 cm, 14 cm.
