The primary winding of the transformer contains 50 turns, the secondary – 500. The voltage on the secondary winding is 600 V. What is the voltage on the primary winding?

From the condition it is known that the primary winding of the transformer contains 50 turns, it is also known that the secondary winding is 500. The voltage on the secondary winding is 600 V. Find what we need is what the voltage on the primary winding is equal to.

To solve the problem, we will apply the so-called transformer formula:

U2 / U1 = N2 / N1 = k,

where k is the transformation ratio,

U – voltage, V;

N is the number of turns of the secondary and primary windings, respectively.

Let’s compose an expression according to our condition:

600 / U1 = 500/50;

U1 = (600 * 50) / 500 = 60 B.
