First of all, let’s determine the length of the rectangle, provided that it is 4 times its width, equal to 12 dm:
12 * 4 = 48 dm.
The perimeter of such a figure, since the opposite sides are equal, is calculated by the formula:
P = 2a + 2b. Substitute the dimensions of the rectangle:
P = 2 * 48 + 2 * 12 = 96 + 24 = 120 dm.
