Their similarity is that the setting of the action took place. There were quite a few differences. Greek theaters were in the open air. Only men could play the role. The emotions of the actors were portrayed using masks. Mostly Greek theaters played tragedies. Thus, it can be said that the modern theater is quite different from the ancient one, since it did not have such great restrictions.
