The sum of the lengths of all sides of the quadrangle is 66 dm. Find the length of each side knowing that these lengths are successively equal to numbers.

Suppose the length of the smallest side of a given quadrilateral is x.

By the condition of the problem, the lengths of all sides are consecutive numbers, which means they will be equal:

x, x + 1, x + 2 and x + 3.

Then we can write the following equation:

x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 = 66,

4 * x + 6 = 66,

4 * x = 60,

x = 60: 4,

x = 15.

If the smaller side is 15, then the rest are respectively equal:

15 + 1 = 16 15 + 2 = 17 15 + 3 = 18.
