The value and reproduction of coelenterates.

Role of coelenterates:
1. Serve as food and shelter for most fish (coral polyps);
2. Jellyfish – a source of nutrients for turtles and some fish;
3. Play the role of predators, affecting marine communities. They eat plankton, and large organisms (jellyfish, anemones) eat small fish;
4. Man uses them as building materials, decorations and even food.
Intestinal is characterized by 2 types of reproduction.
For a polyp (attached), this is the asexual pathway (budding). Jellyfish (floating) reproduce sexually.
