Well, first of all: the column has a parallelepiped shape. Therefore, its area can be calculated by the formula: V = a * b * c. Secondly: dm³ must be converted into SI, that is, in m³. 2500 dm3 – 2.5 m³. А, b, c – lengths of change of sides, two of which are given. Let’s express the unknown side: b = 2.5 / (4 * 4), b = 2.5 / 16 = 0.1563 (m). Since in the condition of the problem the volume is not given in the SI system, we will write it as follows: the length of the unknown side is 15.6 (cm).
