Triangle ABC is given. Side AB is 14 cm, the second side is 3 cm less than the right, and the third side is 5 cm larger than the second. Find the perimeter of the triangle.

Let’s find the lengths of the second and third sides of this triangle ABC.

According to the condition of the problem, the length of the side AB of this triangle is 14 cm, and the second side is shorter than the side AB by 3 cm, therefore, the length of the second side of this triangle is 14 – 3 = 11 cm.

Also in the condition of the problem it is said that the third side is 5 cm larger than the second, therefore, the length of the third side of this triangle is 11 + 5 = 16 cm.

Therefore, the perimeter of this triangle is 14 + 11 + 16 = 25 + 16 = 41 cm.

Answer: 41 cm.
