What are the tasks of the science of taxonomy? How does it help you study the animal kingdom?
Systematics is a science whose task is to develop principles, classifications and practical addition of these principles to the construction of a system of living organisms. The classification includes, description and placement in the system of all organisms that exist and have already become extinct. The main goal of taxonomy is the study of the diversity of the animal world and the construction of a natural system of animals. The system shows an accurate picture of the historical development of the animal world, reflects kinship ties between individual groups, and provides the opportunity to solve one of the most important problems of biology – the problem of the emergence of new species. The science of “taxonomy” is rightly called the mathematics of biology.
