Climatic zones are divided into main and intermediate. The main ones are: arctic (Antarctic), temperate, tropical and equatorial. Intermediate climatic zones (areas): subarctic (subantarctic), subtropical, subequatorial. There are only thirteen climatic zones on our planet: seven main and six intermediate.
