What did the ancient Egyptian get on campaigns?

It depended on social status and rank.

The commander (or a general close to the pharaoh) could receive a share in the booty, a gift from the pharaoh, or a land allotment.

Mid-level commanders could get some gold or land if the pharaoh decided to reward them.

The most difficult situation was for ordinary soldiers. They risked themselves the most, and they got the least, if any, wages. Some pharaohs, however, paid very well their warriors, gifting them with gold, jewelry or lands.
