What happens if you leave the yeast solution with water for a while?

You know that yeast is mushroom. In the store they are sold in a “sleeping” state. The state in which it is easiest for them to endure adverse conditions. If you add sugar to the solution, the process will go faster and after a while you can smell the alcohol – the waste product of yeast.
