What is common and special between France and England in the Middle Ages?

England and France have a lot in common in medieval times. They originated in Western Europe at almost the same time. The common feature of these states was the presence of feudal orders and an absolute monarchy. In the Middle Ages, the feudal system was widespread in many developed countries.
