What is the difference between a colony of unicellular organisms and multicellular organisms?

A colony is a form of coexistence of living organisms of the same species. A colony consisting of unicellular organisms differs in multicellular life forms in that each of the members of the colony of unicellular organisms, that is, one cell, will be able to exist independently if for any reason it separates from it. A cell of a multicellular organism is not able to live independently without other cells.
