What is the difference between allelic and non-allelic genes? What types of allele interactions do you know?

Allelic genes are always found on the same chromosome regions and are responsible for 1 trait.

Non-allelic genes are responsible for different traits.

The interaction of allelic genes can manifest itself in:

complete dominance (pea yellow dominates over green);
incomplete dominance – heterozygotes acquire a new phenotype (red color of strawberry does not completely dominate over white and heterozygotes are pink);
codominance, when the allele is represented by more than 2 genes (inheritance of blood groups in humans).
