What is the difference between parts of the world and continents?

The mainland is a land mass near which there is water from all or almost all sides. Continents are: Eurasia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Australia. Part of the world is a historical division. It includes not only the mainland or part of it, but also the islands located next to it. Parts of the world are: Asia, America, Africa, Antarctica, Europe, Australia and Oceania. For example, on one continent of Eurasia there are two parts of the world: Asia and Europe. On the other hand, the continents of South and North America form one part of the world, which is America.
