What is the name of the battle where the supporters of the Roman Republic were defeated?

This is the battle of Pharsal.

It happened in Greece, near the city of Farsal. There, Caesar’s army met with the Republican army under the command of Gnaeus Pompey. It happened in 48 BC.

While the main body of the infantry fought with each other, Caesar’s cavalry, supported by the infantry, attacked the cavalry of Pompey, which fled. The Caesarians bypassed Pompey’s forces and attacked from the flank. Pompey’s army was either killed, fled, or surrendered.

The result of this battle was that Caesar became a dictator.
