What is the primary structure of a protein?

Proteins are biopolymers, the monomers of which are amino acids. In the primary structure of a protein, amino acids are covalently linked by a peptide bond. It is formed between the carboxyl group of one amino acid and the amine group of another. So amino acids “cling” to each other and form the primary structure of the protein.
