What is the temperature of the earth’s crust?

The earth’s crust is the thinnest shell of the earth. It reaches up to 30 kilometers on land and up to 5 kilometers under the oceans. The temperature of the earth’s crust at the surface directly depends on the temperature of the air. Thus, it can heat up to 35 degrees in hot countries and be below zero in Antarctica. A large amount of the earth’s crust is located under the oceans, where the temperature ranges from 0 to 3 degrees. From this we can conclude that the temperature of the earth’s crust depends on such factors: location (under water or on land), on the time of year and day.
