What social characteristics did the warrior caste have?

Kshatriyas (warriors) are the second in the hierarchy of varnas in India. In this varna, statesmen, administrators, and warriors were born. The kshatriyas were instructed to protect the weak and maintain order. The only varna whose representatives were allowed violence, in certain circumstances, it was allowed to kill. From property they were allowed to own weapons. It was forbidden to engage in agriculture. Men were allowed to marry women from a lower caste, women were not. Participation in rituals was allowed.
