Blood is a type of connective tissue consisting of a liquid intercellular substance – plasma and cells – blood cells: erythrocytes (red cells), leukocytes (white cells) and platelets (platelets). Blood plasma is a yellowish translucent liquid containing 90–92% water, as well as mineral and organic substances, hormones, vitamins, amino acids, and metabolic products.
