What was the social base of fascism? what was the essence of the totalitarian regime in Germany and Italy manifested in?

Typically, the classic fascist parties were financed by large monopolists – especially industrialists. However, the mass movements were built on a different basis. Basically, the Nazis recruited supporters from the petty bourgeois strata – shopkeepers, large farmers, burgers. Some types (Khortism and Francoism) did not rely on aristocracy.

Fascism, as the embodiment of extreme authoritarianism, denies democratic rights and freedoms, as well as democracy itself. The fascist regime is built as the embodiment of the will of the “leader” (De Jure – of the ruling elite – the oligarchs and party leaders).
