When do you think the sand of the beach will get hotter: at noon or in the evening? Explain why.

At noon, the sand of the beach will get hotter. The sun is at its zenith, which is approximately 90 degrees relative to the earth’s horizon. This means that the heat from the sun will dissipate over a smaller area, and the sand will heat up more. Towards evening, the angle changes, it becomes more than 90 degrees and the heat dissipates over a larger area of sand, so the sand will be less hot.
