Where did the western, southern, eastern Slavs settle?

The process of settling the Slavs began in the 5th century. Usually there are 3 groups of Slavic tribes:

1) Western Slavs – settled in the regions of central Europe;

2) Eastern Slavs – mainly occupied the eastern part of Europe from the Black to the Baltic Sea in the north and from the Danube to the Volga in the east.

3) The South Slavs migrated and occupied the northern regions of the Byzantine Empire: the Balkans and Illyria.
