Where do algae live?

Algae are very widespread on the planet. Most of them live in the aquatic environment. Moreover, it does not matter whether it is a fresh water body or sea water. The bulk of the algae is located in the upper part of the water, reaching about 40 cm in depth, but there are species that can exist at a depth of up to two meters. Some algae live on land. We see them as green goo on trees in the forest. You can also find these organisms on the surface of the rocks.
