Knowledge of biology is used by ecologists to protect the environment, the properties of fungi and yeast are used in production, knowledge of genetics helps people create new varieties and breeds, and avoid genetic diseases. Biology is closely connected with many sciences: chemistry, physics, geography, ecology, philosophy, psychology, sociology, etc.
