Who became a slave in ancient Rome?

The slaves in this ancient state were people who were mired in debt, or they were prisoners of war. There were a lot of such people in Rome. This was due to the fact that Rome conducted constant wars of conquest, thus, the influx of slaves was simply huge. The number of slaves grew very rapidly. It was in 74 BC that became the cause of a major uprising, which was raised by the Thracian – Spartacus.
