Why did Napoleon’s actions meet with the support of the population?

| Napoleon was a national hero in France before the Patriotic War of 1812. His activities to pacify neighboring states, seize new territories, liberate countries were readily accepted by French citizens. Many of them shared the views of the emperor, as he strove for world domination. He improved the internal structure and aroused support from the people. Bonaparte’s actions were approved by all segments of the population, because he advocated equality. Consequently, the inhabitants willingly went to fight under his command.
