Why do huge stars seem to us to be luminous points?

The reason that the stars seem to us only are just points in the night sky at a huge distance from the Earth to these stars. After all, the distances between the Earth and the stars are measured in light years (that is, the light from the stars reaches the Earth over many years). In fact, many of the stars visible in the sky are huge incandescent balls larger than our Sun.
